Conserving the Tinne costume collection


For me it’s kind of a privilege, it’s
kind of… I’ve been let into this family and I get to see things no one else sees, even, you know, people who look at them all the time because I’m looking at them on a more forensic level, looking for where the problems are inherent in the garment and that need to be dealt with. We have spent 20 years conserving this
collection just getting things up to their very best, because we want this to be the best it’s ever been. They’ve probably not been this good since
they were in Mrs Tinne’s hands all those years ago.
